We’ve all seen oak hardwoods, cherry hardwoods, and even ash or mahogany. However, there are so many options when it comes to the species of the hardwood you choose. Today Floor Coverings International Madison wanted to feature a species of hardwood that may be your new favorite: acacia.
What is Acacia?
Acacia is a species of hardwood native to south-east Asia. When it is used in hardwood flooring the result is stunning. Acacia is known for its varied and beautiful grain pattern. You can also often see knots in the wood as well which adds more variance and texture to the floor.
You can stain acacia to suit your design needs. However, many homeowners often choose to let the natural beauty of the tree shine through. It’s a great option for your new kitchen and will pair nicely with clean, white cabinetry. You can also use acacia in living room design or anywhere hardwoods are a good option.
Engineered or Solid Hardwood
Acacia is available in solid or engineered varieties. If you’d like to stain the hardwoods, you’ll have more options by choosing solid hardwoods. However, many homeowners choose the engineered option; we recently installed engineered hardwoods in this Madison area kitchen!
If you’d like to see some samples of acacia, call the experts at Floor Coverings International for a free design consultation. We’ll show you all the hardwood options for your Madison area home!
